Derek Jeter plays for the New York Yankees where he has spent his whole career which started in 1995 at age 20. Jeter won three Golden Glove Awards, one Silver Slugger Award and the American League Rookie of the Year Award. In 2000, he won both the World Series MVP Award and the All-Star Game MVP Award, which became a record. He holds the fifth highest batting average in the League.

His batting average of .316 is a tie for seventh place. He is frequently seen on the arm of female celebrities and considered a celebrity himself.
