The Beatles are perhaps the most famous rock/pop band of all time. The band began in the town of Liverpool in 1960. At the current time, McCartney is pursuing a successful solo career. Tragically John Lennon was murdered by a crazed fan in 1980. This catapulted both Lennon and his former band to legend status and to this day the Beatles and their music (both as a group and as solo acts) live on in the hearts of fans everywhere.
